The New York Giants suffered a big loss in their Week 7 game against the Jaguars, losing rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger indefinitely with a fractured eye socket. Bellinger was really beginning to make an impact on the Giants offense week in and week out.
With things now being a little thin at the position, the Giants went to a familiar face in rookie tight end Andre Miller. Miller was originally with the Giants in training camp but was cut when he broke his forearm. Now an injury to someone else gets him a second chance with Big Blue.
Miller played wide receiver in college at the University of Maine, and was actually impressing in camp before getting injured. Miller is set to join the Giants practice squad, and if things go well could be elevated to the active roster. He still might need some work acclimating himself to the position, but he represents a potential pass catcher at the position to fill in for Bellinger who will be out for an extended period.
