AJ Cassavell reports that San Diego Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. has been placed on the 10-day Injured List after suffering a shoulder inflammation during a 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants Monday Night.
During the third inning, Tatis took a wild swing and landed in the batter's box in pain, eventually leaving the game. Ha-Seong Kim started for the Padres at shortstop. Kim is playing in the United States this season after spending seven seasons with the Kiwoom Heroes of the KBO. He appeared in 138 games last season, hitting .306 with 30 home runs.
Tatis signed a record 14-year contract with the Padres this season and is one of the league's up-and-coming stars. Last season, he appeared in 59 games, batting .277 with 14 home runs.
The Padres are +950 to win the World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook. They will finish their three-game series with the San Francisco Giants Wednesday afternoon and then travel to Arlington, TX, to begin a three-game series with the Texas Rangers.
