With the fantasy baseball playoffs now in full swing, there's little-to-no margin for error for fantasy owners. In order to move on to the next round of your fantasy playoffs, optimizing your fantasy team's production from here on out is an absolute must.

Luckily, there are several players available on the waiver wire that could give you what you need to do just that. With that in mind, here are five fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for the semifinal playoffs this week.

1. Jorge Alfaro, C, Miami Marlins

Catchers don't usually make the difference between a fantasy championship and a disappointing loss, but Jorge Alfaro may be one of the few exceptions. The 26-year-old backstop has been absolutely raking over the past two weeks, batting .353 with three homers, five RBI and a 0.995 OPS over his last 34 at-bats. Alfaro is available in 74 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues and could provide his owners with premium production at a position that lacks considerable depth for the playoffs this week.

2. Jurickson Profar, 1B/2B/3B/SS, Oakland Athletics

Jurickson Profar has had an up-and-down season in 2019, but he's getting hot at just the right time, much to the delight of his fantasy owners. The 26-year-old super-utilityman has been a top-10 fantasy hitter over the past two weeks, batting .311 with five homers, 14 RBI, 12 runs scored and a robust 1.164 OPS across his last 44 at-bats. Profar is available in 58 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues and, with ideal positional versatility, should be a must-add for almost every fantasy team.

3. Adam Frazier, 3B/OF, Pittsburgh Pirates

It may be a lost season in Pittsburgh, but Adam Frazier keeps finding ways to stay fantasy relevant. The 27-year-old has been a top-25 fantasy hitter over the past 14 days, batting .396 with two homers, nine RBI, 12 runs scored and a 1.146 OPS across his last 53 at-bats. Frazier is still available in 66 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, but he's seen his ownership spike of 23 percent in the last day. Fantasy owners in need of a consistent hitter would be wise to pick him Frazier sooner rather than later.

4. Trevor Williams, SP, Pittsburgh Pirates

Trevor Williams has been really good of late, sporting a 2-0 record with a 2.37 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 15 strikeouts across his last three starts (19 innings pitched). Williams is available in 74 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues and, with starts against the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs this coming week, should be a quality streaming option for fantasy owners in the playoffs.

5. Mychal Givens, RP, Baltimore Orioles

This is the second week in a row in which Mychal Givens makes this list and, despite an up-and-down season, he's beginning to look like a difference-maker for saves-needy owners. The 27-year-old righty has a 0.00 ERA and an 0.20 WHIP during his last five innings pitched, recording a save and 10 strikeouts during that span. Saves are hard to come by in the fantasy playoffs and considering he's still available in 63 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Leagues, Givens is well worth the add.
