PGA DFS This Week

After the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play last week, the PGA Tour switches back to its standard stroke play format and turns its attention to the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio.

While there are a few elite players entering this field, many have taken the week off in preparation for The Masters next week. That means this tournament could be wide open.

With that in mind, let's take a look at three players to consider for your fantasy team this week.

Valero Texas Open Fantasy

Jordan Spieth:
Jordan Spieth has been knocking on the door for weeks now. After an up-and-down last couple of seasons on tour, Spieth seems to have found his game again. In his last six events, he has only finished outside the top-15 one time. In those six starts he has four top-10 finishes and three top-five finishes. Additionally Spieth has finished in the top-10 in two of his last three appearances in this tournament. In a weaker field and with his game trending up, this could the week Spieth finally gets another win.

Corey Conners:
Corey Conners makes this list for similar reasons to Spieth. He's playing well coming into an event has has a good history at. For one, Conners is the defending champion of this event. He also has two top-10 finishes in his last three events. Additionally, from a metrics standpoint, Conners has performed well this season. Coming into this event, he ranks Top-15 on tour in Strokes Gained (SG): Off-The-Tee (14th), SG: Approach The Green (12th), SG: Tee-To-Green (12th) and SG: Total (15th).

Zach Johnson:
This is exactly the type of lesser field an experienced veteran like Zach Johnson can take advantage of. While he's at a lower range than the other two guys on this list, Johnson could very well outperform his price tag from both a betting or fantasy perspective. Coming off a T-8 finish in his last start at the Honda Classic, Johnson also boasts some solid results in this event. In his last five starts here he has two top-six finishes.
