PGA DFS This Week

After the AT&T Byron Nelson at saw Lee Kyoung-hoon take home a win last weekend, one of the biggest weeks in golf has finally arrived. It's officially PGA Championship week

Filled with the world's top players, this elite field is primed to deliver fans a thrilling week of golf.

With that in mind, let's take a look at three players to consider for your fantasy team this week.

PGA Championship Fantasy

Rory McIlroy:
Rory McIlroy is the betting favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook this week, and for good reason. Obviously his absurd 13-under performance to win the 2012 PGA Championship stands out, but it's not like we need to look back that far to find reasons to like him this week. He bounced back from a poor Masters outing with a win at the Wells Fargo Championship earlier this month, and he ranks top-20 on tour this season in strokes gained (SG): total. That includes ranking fifth in SG: off-the-tee, which is a key stat for the Kiawah Island Ocean Course.

Joaquin Niemann:
Also excelling in those key stats, Joaquin Niemann ranks 9th on tour in SG: total as well as 10th in SG: off-the-tee. Those stats are easy to like over a 51-round sample, and he adds a strong average drive distance of 312.4 yards, which checks in at 8th. Struggles with accuracy off the tee can always plague Niemann (especially if the wind picks up at Kiawah), but it's hard not to like his upside from a fantasy perspective.

Will Zalatoris:
Will Zalatoris really broke out at The Masters, and he's got the underlying stats to back up his potential for another strong major performance this week. He's no slouch when it comes to average drive distance (No. 23) , and while his SG: off-the-tee ranking (49th) leaves something to be desired, he more than makes up for that with his approach. He ranks No. 3 in SG: approach, as well as 7th in SG: tee-to-green and 19th in SG: total. The youngster has clearly already developed a strong enough mental game to excel on big stages, so this week's stakes shouldn't be an issue.
