Many gyms and public spaces may be closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that hasn't stopped Drew Lock and the Denver Broncos offense from staying sharp over the offseason. A recent video posted on Facebook showed Lock and the Broncos taking reps in a local park.
The Broncos are clearly aiming to keep their workout schedules intact despite the upheaval across the country. While it looks a bit confusing as the Broncos aren't wearing any identifying gear, quarterback Drew Lock, running back Phillip Lindsay, and offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James were all in attendance. No coaches and staff are allowed at workouts until the official start of training camp, but players are free to hold informal workouts on their own.
Given the Broncos' young offense, any practice they can get will be helpful. Newly drafted wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler will hopefully have enough time to get accustomed to the offense before the season begins. The Broncos' collection of young offensive talent should be intriguing to watch in 2020.
For the time being, NFL training camps are still set to begin on July 28, a date that hasn't changed despite the postponements of many major sports. The Broncos are still preparing to open their minicamp on that date, although there will certainly be increased safety precautions to combat the virus.
The 2020 season is shaping up to be an exciting one for the Broncos, and fans have to love seeing the young offense get off to an early start in preparing for it.
