The Atlanta Falcons added a speedy wide receiver to their practice squad on Tuesday, signing former Carolina Panthers wideout Ra'Shaun Henry after a successful workout.
Atlanta Falcons News
The Falcons signed Henry to their practice squad after working him out on Tuesday. Henry had previously worked out for several teams after being released by the Panthers in early September, including the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers.
While he has yet to play in an NFL game, Henry brings a good combination of speed and size to the table. He's fairly large at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds but is also quick, as evidenced by his 4.42 40 time.
With Atlanta in desperate need of receiving help and playmakers in general (especially in the wake of Cordarrelle Patterson's injury), Henry could find himself suiting up for the Falcons eventually. The team currently has the third-fewest receiving yards in the NFL this year, but a player like Henry could give QB Marcus Mariota another weapon with his speed.
Atlanta has a tough home matchup on tap against San Francisco in Week 6. The Falcons are listed as 5.5-point underdogs against the 49ers' stout defense on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
