The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2022 NFL Draft with a whopping three first-round picks and could likely trade them in a package to move up or acquire a player. NFL analyst Todd McShay expects them to do nothing of the sort as he has the Eagles loading up on talent in his latest mock draft, instead.

Eagles Mock Draft

McShay projects Philadelphia to nab linebacker Nakobe Dean at No. 15, edge rusher Travon Walker at No. 16 and wide receiver Treylon Burks at No. 19. This move would address three major needs for the Eagles in one fell swoop and greatly improve a roster that snuck into the playoffs this past season.

Dean was unstoppable at Georgia and tallied 168 tackles (13.5 for loss) to go along with 7.5 sacks across three college seasons. He has the speed to cover opposing pass-catchers and the motor to get into the backfield on any given snap. Defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon would surely love to have a player like that anchoring his team.

Walker was also a part of the Bulldogs National Championship defense and posted 6.0 sacks and 2 pass breakups during his junior season. The 21-year-old is improving with the more game experience he gets, which is great news for an Eagles team that logged just 29 sacks in 2021 (No. 31 in NFL).

Philadelphia found a stud in wide receiver DeVonta Smith, yet there is no depth behind him. That is where Burks comes in. The Arkansas standout knows how to use his acceleration to rack up yards after the catch and creates a constant mismatch in the slot. After all, he averaged 16.4 yards per reception as a Razorback.

Philadelphia fans would surely love if McShay nails these projections. Keep an eye on the Eagles, though. General manager Howie Roseman has been known to have a trick or two up his sleeve. The NFL Draft is set to kick off on Thursday, April 28.
