The Philadelphia Eagles are in the midst of figuring out their current quarterback situation. With a Carson Wentz trade expected to happen soon, that would clear the way for the team to start building around Jalen Hurts.
However, ESPN has a bold prediction for the team this offseason concerning their QB outlook.
ESPN suggests that the Eagles will take a quarterback in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft to compete with Hurts, which is surprising.
Philly just used a second-round pick to select Hurts in last year's draft, and he only registered four starts for the team this season. It wasn't enough time at all to evaluate the young QB, and it'd be shocking for the team to trade away Wentz if they don't believe they have a sure thing already on the roster.
With the No. 6 pick in this year's draft, the Eagles could use that selection to take a much-needed top wide receiver to surround Hurts with, rather than risk it on a second-tier QB who has a shot at panning out.
Philadelphia's main focus should be on putting a top team around Hurts and hoping the team regains its Super Bowl form. Inviting in another quarterback controversy will only hurt the Eagles.
