The Miami Dolphins aren't having much luck when it comes to their wide receiver room. Earlier this week, the team placed veteran wideout Will Fuller on the injured reserve with a broken finger. Fast forward to Friday and Miami's WR room was dealt another blow.
It was revealed on Friday that seventh-year WR DeVante Parker is dealing with hamstring soreness and his Week 5 status could be a game-time decision.
DeVante Parker Injury Update
This news isn't what Dolphins fans want to hear, especially after Parker had his best game of the season last week. He caught four of his nine targets against the Indianapolis Colts for 77 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even though Miami lost the game, it was encouraging to see the veteran creating chemistry with quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
If Parker is forced to miss Sunday's contest, rookie WR Jaylen Waddle will likely be Miami's go-to option through the air. The first-year pass-catcher leads the Dolphins in receptions (25) and is second in both targets (30) and receiving yards (200) only to Parker.
Beyond Waddle and Parker, Miami's aerial offense has been disappointing, to say the least. No other wide receiver has more than 31 receiving yards on the year and the Dolphins as a whole are averaging the third-fewest passing yards per game (173.8).
Miami will enter their Week 5 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a 9.5-point underdog, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, so it'll be an uphill battle.
