Dolphins Reveal Their Stance on Tom Brady Pursuit in 2023

Quarterback Tom Brady is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and will undoubtedly draw attention from multiple teams if he decides to keep his storied career going. Don't expect one of those teams to be the Miami Dolphins, though, as they remain committed to starter Tua Tagovailoa.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins are not planning to pursue Brady despite being linked to him in the recent past. Keep in mind Miami was stripped of its 2023 first-round pick and fined last year for tampering with Brady as well as then New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton.

The Dolphins will move forward with Tagovailoa as the front office is pleased with the progress he made under first-year head coach Mike McDaniel. The 24-year-old tallied a career-best 3,548 passing yards and 25 touchdowns in 13 starts this past season, while also leading the league in passer rating.

Tagovailoa was the top vote-getter in Pro Bowl fan voting, but will not participate as he continues to recover from a tumultuous season in which he suffered multiple concussions. His health will be something to keep an eye on heading into what could be an noteworthy offseason for the Dolphins.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champ, has been adamant to reporters that he has no timetable on his decision at the moment. He's keeping it all very close to the chest.
