Dodgers Sweep Rockies Amidst Historic Offensive Start to Season

Last season didn't exactly end the way the Los Angeles Dodgers might have hoped. For the second straight season Los Angeles lost in the World Series, this time to the Boston Red Sox in five games.
However, while the Red Sox have struggled to a 3-8 start to the 2019 season, the Dodgers are 8-2 through their first 10 contests. And it's been LA's offense that's setting the tone, with an MLB-leading plus-36 run differential and a record-setting pace when it comes to runs scored.
The Dodgers have scored 84 runs in their first 10 games, 3rd-most by any team in the past 100 seasons.

The only two teams with more (1932 Yankees, 1999 Indians) went on to score 1,000 runs. That Indians club is the only team in the expansion era to reach 1,000 runs. pic.twitter.com/HukkYlHiTM
The Dodgers are fresh off a 12-6 win over the Rockies on Sunday Night Baseball, putting them on pace to score roughly 1,360 runs this season. This would blow away the MLB record of 1,220 runs set by the Boston Beaneaters in 1894 and the expansion-era record of 1,009 runs scored by the 1999 Cleveland Indians.
LA has relied on the home run to score the majority of its runs this season, racking up 24 round-trippers in its first 10 games, including an MLB-best seven from Cody Bellinger.

Cody Bellinger just can't stop sending balls into orbit
Do you think he'll still be the home run king come October?@Cody_Bellinger @Dodgers @Dodgers_UK#MLB #Baseball #LABleedsBlue pic.twitter.com/FimLIXAUOe
It will be difficult for the Dodgers to keep up this torrid pace offensively, and there's no guarantee that it will lead to their first World Series since 1988, but it's at least fun to watch while it lasts.
