Dodgers News: Los Angeles Gets Bad Clayton Kershaw Injury Update

The Los Angeles Dodgers aren't where they thought they would be at this point in the season. They came into the year as World Series favorites, ready to repeat. While they still remain the favorites, Los Angeles sits in second place in the NL West at 53-34, trailing the San Francisco Giants by 1.5 games.

However, heading into the All-Star break the Dodgers have placed ace Clayton Kershaw on the IL with forearm inflammation.

Kershaw isn't having a terrible year, but it has certainly been a down one by his standards. He's currently holding a 9-7 record with a 3.39 ERA. Injuries like this seem to be ones that can fester if not given the proper time to heal.

So while its tough to see Kershaw heading to the IL, it's more important to get him healthy and ready for the back half of the season and heading into the playoffs.
