The NLDS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and san Diego Padres is preparing to head to San Diego for Games 3 and 4 after the two teams split game 1 and 2 in Los Angeles.

Dodgers Game 3 ALDS Starter

The Padres were able to even the series in Game 2 after the Dodgers grabbed a convincing Game 1 victory. The Dodgers have announced they will start Tony Gonsolin in Game 3.

Gonsolin put together an amazing 2022 regular season, going 16-1 with a 2.14 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP. Those numbers jump off the screen. Putting that into further context, against the Padres this season Gonsolin i s 2-0 in two starts with a 0.71 ERA, surrendering just one run over 12 1/3 innings pitched.

If San Diego has any chancer of taking the series lead in Game 3, things are going to have to change. The Padres are starting Blake Snell in Game 3, who was 8-10 this season, holding a respectable 3.38 ERA.

Regardless, Los Angeles comes in with the major starting pitcher advantage. San Diego will have to find a way to get to Gonsolin or the bullpen, because an average of 0.5 runs per game against Gonsolin isn't going to win them any baseball games.
