In his NFL debut in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, DK Metcalf proved to be a go-to target for quarterback Russell Wilson, helping lead his team back from a deficit to win the game. This week, the rookie receiver hits the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in what looks like a solid matchup for him.

DK Metcalf Fantasy Outlook in Week 2

Metcalf finished his NFL debut catching four of his six targets for a team-high 89 yards. The 21-year-old used his big, 6-foot-4-inch frame to haul in downfield shots.

Half of his targets came at least 20 yards downfield, and he caught two of them. In his rookie season, it appears Seattle wants to use Metcalf primarily as a deep threat, which bodes well for this fantasy value this week.

The Steelers got embarrassed by the New England Patriots in Week 1, losing 33-3. Many of Pittsburgh's struggles stemmed from being unable to cover the Patriots downfield. Tom Brady completed all three of his passes that traveled more than 20 yards in the air, adding two touchdowns on those throws.

Pittsburgh also played just three cornerbacks more than one snap. All three of these players are under six feet tall and below 200 pounds, creating a physical mismatch for Metcalf, who is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 229 pounds. Metcalf's size and ability to make plays downfield could be a problem for Pittsburgh, and suggests he could have a big-time performance in Week 2.
