Fantasy managers who drafted DJ Chark are likely already frustrated with him, as he's only notched 7 receptions while the Jacksonville Jaguars' offense has looked shockingly good in 2020.
Things are only getting worse, as he has been ruled out for Week 3's Thursday Night Football matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
Chark is only tied for fourth on the team with 7 targets through two games, accounting for a measly 10.9 percent of the Jags' total. He has been their WR1 from a snaps standpoint, however, leading all Jacksonville WRs in both Week 1 and 2. He out-snapped Keelan Cole (second in snaps) 42 to 33 in Week 1 and 59 to 51 in Week 2.
With Chark out, look for Keelan Cole's fantasy outlook to soar.
Keelan Cole Fantasy Outlook
Second to Chark in snaps, as I mentioned, Cole leads the Jaguars in a handful of receiving stats. He's No. 1 on the team in targets (12), receptions (11) and TDs (2), while his 105 yards trail Chark by just 4. Those 12 targets are also a full 50 percent more than anyone else on the team has tallied.
With Chark out, Cole should be in for a slight uptick in snaps, and his target floor would climb significantly. Gardner Minshew has really spread the ball out this season, however (seven players between 5 and 12 targets), so it's not like Cole suddenly becomes a safe bet for double-digit targets or anything.
Laviska Shenault Fantasy Outlook
The other player that could be on fantasy managers' radars now is rookie Laviska Shenault, but he remains a risky play.
Shenault has played an unusual role in the Jags' offense, as a WR with only one fewer carry (7) than target (8) through two weeks. This usage means he's not a natural fit to replace Chark in this offense. The Jags could shift their playcalling to feature Shenault a bit more, but it seems unlikely that his volume really skyrockets tonight.
Cole checks in at WR28 in our Week 3 fantasy football rankings, while Shenault remains unranked for the week.
