College football fans are only a day away from finding out who will take home the 2020 Heisman Trophy. The winner will be revealed on Jan. 5, and it's looking like the award is Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith's to lose.

DeVonta Smith Heisman Odds

After becoming the favorite win the Heisman following the SEC Championship, Smith's lead has only grown leading up to the trophy presentation ceremony. On Heisman Eve, Smith has ballooned to the -500 favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's Heisman odds.

Smith has a sizable lead over his teammate and quarterback Mac Jones, who is second in the Heisman odds at +470. Clemson's Trevor Lawrence (+900) and Florida's Kyle Trask (+5000) round out the odds for the four finalists.

Smith's performance against Florida, where he totaled 15 receptions for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns, has put him in prime position to take home the prestigious award.

Only three receivers have previously won the Heisman -- Nebraska's Johnny Rodgers (1972), Notre Dame's Tim Brown (1987) and Michigan's Desmond Howard (1991) -- but it looks like Smith is on the verge of making history. Beating out the top quarterbacks in the country to take home a QB-friendly award is no small feat for the Alabama wideout.
