Deshaun Watson Trade Rumor: One Team Remains Locked in

With NFL free agency opening, little news has come out on the Houston Texans possibly trading star quarterback Deshaun Watson. Several potential suitors like the Chicago Bears and Washington Football Team have already locked up new starters, shrinking Watson's market.

However, one team seems locked in to pursuing a Watson trade.

Panthers Deshaun Watson Trade Rumors

The Carolina Panthers are said to have made Watson their Plan-A at quarterback and are gearing up to land the disgruntled star. It's not the first time Carolina has been linked to Watson, either, but the fact that they remain committed to the idea of a deal while other teams are apparently bowing out shows how serious their interest is in the QB.

It's clear that the Panthers are over the Teddy Bridgewater experiment, as evidenced by them throwing him into trade packages already this offseason. Bringing in Watson would give the team a franchise QB it desperately needs, and mitigates the risk of selecting a young QB in this year's draft.

Houston's signing of Tyrod Taylor on Day 2 of free agency seems to signal that the team is preparing for a possible Watson trade, even despite other landing spots finding their QB answers. With Carolina one of the few remaining destinations, it could open up the door to a possible landmark trade.
