The NFL released the first half of its top 100 players list for the 2022 season and Las Vegas defensive end Maxx Crosby checked in at No. 59 overall. It was the first time he has been named to the list in his career and Raiders quarterback Derek Carr took to Twitter to showcase his excitement.

Las Vegas Raiders News

Carr called the recognition "well deserved" and he isn't wrong. Crosby has posted at least 7.0 sacks in each of his first three NFL seasons and logged a ridiculous 30 quarterback hits in 2021. He earned a Pro Bowl nod and a massive four-year extension worth $95 million with the Raiders in the offseason.

It's worth noting that Carr wasn't the only Las Vegas player to praise the 24-year-old pass-rusher. In a video package put together by the NFL, tight end Darren Waller raved about Crosby's instincts and linebacker Denzel Perryman explained how Crosby gives 100% effort every day, not just on Sundays.

Crosby ranked ahead of other notable defensive linemen such as New Orleans' Cameron Jordan and new Las Vegas teammate Chandler Jones. That has a lot to do with the fact that he generated 122 total pressures (sacks, hits and hurries) last year, which was the highest mark in the league.

The Raiders already have four players on the top 100 list and only numbers 100-51 have been revealed. It goes to show that this team has the talent to compete in the AFC West in 2022. Las Vegas hasn't earned a divisional title since 2002, but oddsmakers don't see that fact changing this fall.

The Raiders have odds set at +700 to win the AFC West, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
