The New Orleans Saints were extremely aggressive in the 2022 NFL Draft. The team acquired an extra 2022 first-round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles, and the organization moved up again on draft night, trading up from No. 16 to No. 11.

When a team moves up like that, it's usually for a quarterback. So it was a bit of a surprise to see New Orleans get out of Round 1 without a new signal-caller, especially considering Jameis Winston is still working his way back from an ACL tear.

But the latest update might provide a bit of clarity on that front.

Jameis Winston Injury Update

During an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, head coach Dennis Allen sounded confident that Winston will be ready for Week 1, saying the Saints "like where he's at right now."

That's great news for the organization. Winston has been erratic throughout his career, but he looked uncharacteristically composed last season. The former No. 1 overall pick had 14 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions before tearing his ACL in Week 8.

If Winston suffers a setback or goes down again, Andy Dalton would be next in line for New Orleans.

Regardless of who's under center, FanDuel Sportsbook doesn't appear to be all that confident in the Saints, giving New Orleans +4400 odds to win Super Bowl LVII (No. 21 in the NFL).
