The "NFL Top 100" list creates plenty of debate (among both fans and players) every offseason, and the 2020 edition is no different.

It was revealed on Tuesday that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers checked in at No. 16. That put him a full 30 spots ahead of the Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott (No. 46), and some people are not happy about that.

Looking at the advanced stats from last season, Prescott holds a pretty significant edge. That holds true in more traditional stats as well, with Dak throwing for 4,902 yards (8.2 per attempt) and 30 touchdowns, compared to Rodgers' 4,002 yards (7.0 per attempt) and 26 touchdowns in 2019.

Aside from turnovers, the only area Rodgers had Prescott beat last year was in wins, as the Packers went 13-3 while the Cowboys missed the playoffs at 8-8. With Prescott outplaying Rodgers, however, it's hard to put much weight into those wins being a reflection of their individual play.

This ranking could just be a case of reputation. Rodgers has been one of the NFL's premier passers for years, and he has two MVP awards under his belt. Prescott, on the other hand, is still a young up-and-comer who appears to still be fighting to shake off the labels he received when he struggled as a sophomore back in 2017.

If the 2020 season looks anything like 2019 did, however, it's going to be hard to keep Prescott behind Rodgers on next year's list.
