Darrell Henderson Injury Update Boosts Week 3 Fantasy Outlook

Before Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson left in the third quarter of Week 2, he was on pace for another solid fantasy performance. Through three quarters, Henderson notched 53 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground, and 3 receptions for 29 yards.
The hopes for a more monster game were dashed when Henderson left with a rib injury. Regardless, the third-year back still finished as Week 2's RB11 in PPR formats and his ownership over the Rams backfield has resulted in two impressive fantasy performances.
Darrell Henderson Injury Update
On Monday night, head coach Sean McVay revealed a very optimistic injury update on his lead back. McVay explained that Henderson's rib injury is not serious and simply a pain management type of situation.

Darrell Henderson Fantasy Outlook
That's music to the ears of fantasy managers. Across the first two weeks of the NFL season, Henderson recorded RB9 numbers in PPR leagues, averaging 16.5 points per contest.
Unfortunately, Los Angeles does face the challenge of the tough Tampa Bay Buccaneers rushing defense in Week 3. Tampa Bay gave up the seventh fewest PPR points to opposing running backs in 2020, and is allowing the fewest rushing yards per game this season (80.6). This included holding the talented Ezekiel Elliot to just 33 rushing yards in Week 1.
For a running back with an average draft position (ADP) of RB26, Henderson has exceeded expectations thus far. However, thanks to Tampa Bay's defense, the Rams lead back may be better suited for a FLEX play or bench option in Week 3.
Henderson will rebound. He's rated as RB19 on The Duel's rest of season PPR rankings and projects as a capable No. 2 fantasy back for the remainder of the year.
