Despite being without starting quarterback Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys came away with a win on Sunday Night Football thanks to an impressive performance by backup QB Cooper Rush.
Although, Dallas did suffer one potential loss on Sunday Night. Star cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered a sprained ankle. The severity of the sprain is not yet known, but the team will learn more once they return to Dallas.
Trevon Diggs Injury Update
Diggs is enjoying a breakout season as a second-year pro out of Alabama. The 23-year-old cornerback leads the NFL with 7 interceptions through 8 games, still on pace to break the single-season record of 14. Although, that pace could be in serious jeopardy if Diggs were to miss time.
Diggs also leads the NFL in passes defended (11), defensive touchdowns (2) and interception return yards (142). It goes without saying, having him miss any amount of time would be a massive blow to this defensive unit.
Cowboys fans can hope for the best as they prepare for a Week 9 matchup with the Denver Broncos. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Cowboys as 7-point home favorites in that game.
