Cowboys Coach Reveals Risky Gameplan for Week 3 Against Seahawks
By Max Staley

Mike McCarthy's tenure as the Dallas Cowboys head coach hasn't looked all that different from the regime before him. His team is 1-1, though the general sentiment is that Dallas has underwhelmed. Dallas has a real shot to flip the script on that narrative in Week 3, however, thanks to a matchup with the undefeated Seattle Seahawks.
But McCarthy's comments don't exactly bode well for the Cowboys in Week 3.
Mike McCarthy says the Cowboys' plan is not to run clock on offense to keep Russell Wilson off the field as much as possible. "We want to score as fast as we can, and as many times as we can."

Given how good Russell Wilson and the Seahawks' offense have looked thus far, it's probably in McCarthy's best interest to keep them off the field by any means necessary. Wilson is currently the MVP favorite, throwing for 610 yards and 9 touchdowns with just 1 interception (off a dropped ball).
This defense hasn't exactly looked up to the task of defending a passing game like this, either. The Cowboys are surrendering 29.5 points per game (PPG) and checks in at just No. 18 in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA metrics.
McCarthy's Cowboys are one of the few teams with enough firepower to keep up with the Seahawks, but getting into a shootout with an offense this hot is certainly a risky strategy.
