The Dallas Cowboys may have missed the postseason with an 8-8 record in the 2019 season, but that doesn't come close to telling the full story about how good this team is, especially since they'll be heading into 2020 with their offensive core of Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott intact.

Considering their 2019 finish, a win total over/under of 9.5 on FanDuel Sportsbook might seem reasonable, but even that mark is lower than it should be.

For an idea of how much better Dallas is than their record might show, you don't have to look any further than point differential.

In 2019, the Cowboys outscored their opponents by a combined 113 points. For context, the Philadelphia Eagles won the division at 9-7, while posting a point differential of just +31. A +113 mark was good enough for third in the NFC and sixth in the entire NFL. The Green Bay Packers even managed to win 13 games and earn a first-round bye at just +67.

Looking at the advanced metrics, the Cowboys also checked in at sixth in the NFL in Football Outsiders' Total DVOA metric, ranking just one spot behind the San Francisco 49ers. Dallas is the only team that finished in the top 8 of that metric that didn't win at least 10 games, and there were even three teams that didn't crack the top eight that won at least 10 games.

Keeping the core of their offense in place, this Dallas team could surprise a lot of people if they can bounce back and have their record reflect just how good they are.
