Cooper Kupp Proves He's the Best Teammate Amid Contract Negotiations

Cooper Kupp has been heralded as the ideal teammate throughout his career with the Los Angeles Rams. Some are wondering if Kupp's team-first mentality might change, though, following a standout 2021 season and with WR contracts rising around the league.
It turns out Rams fans have nothing to worry about regarding Kupp's approach to a potential extension.
Cooper Kupp, asked if he wants to be the highest-paid WR in the @NFL:

"I don't think that's the approach that I take."
"There's a place you want to be. There's a place that I think is fair."
"I'm not trying to beat anybody. I'm not trying to compare myself to anyone else."
Cooper Kupp Contract
In response to a question about being the highest-paid WR in the league, Kupp said "I'm not trying to beat anybody. I'm not trying to compare myself to anyone else." He also added there's "a place I think is fair."
Comments from a star player about to get paid don't get any better than this. Kupp could absolutely demand to be the top-paid wideout in the league after his unreal 2021 campaign, yet he says he's not focused on what other WRs are being paid. Instead, he just wants what's fair.
This is a refreshing attitude after several big-name wide receivers made sure to cash in this offseason, and Tyreek Hill even swapped teams to secure the biggest bag possible.
Kupp seems destined to follow in Matthew Stafford's footsteps and take a little less on his next deal to make sure this contender remains at the top of the NFC for years to come.
