There's undoubtedly a ton of pressure on Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks heading into his rookie season. He was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft as the effective replacement for A,J. Brown, who's now in Philadelphia, and he's expected to shoulder the load for Tennessee right out of the gate.

Reports of Burks' struggles at the Titans' recent rookie minicamp, though, will likely prompt some concerns.

Treylon Burks News

Team writer Jim Wyatt recapped Burks' rough go of things this past weekend. Burks made headlines on Friday when he was unable to fully practice due to breathing issues, but Wyatt also notes when the Arkansas product returned on Saturday, he had a "pretty bad drop" on a "beautifully thrown pass."

This certainly isn't the greatest start to Burks' time in Tennessee. The sky-high expectations don't help, but conditioning is a basic skill every NFL player needs to succeed. Seeing the team's top pick struggle in that area right out of the gate is potentially worrisome.

Conditioning is something a team workout program can correct. Drop issues could potentially be a much bigger red flag for a player expected to be one of the top-pass catchers right out of the gate.

Hopefully, this was just a fluke outing for the talented 22-year-old, just as it was for Ja'Marr Chase last offseason. There's a reason he was one of the most highly regarded WR prospects in this year's draft, and growing pains are inevitable for any first-year player, so there's no real reason to worry after one bad weekend.
