Running back has been a revolving door for the Indianapolis Colts this season. Jonathan Taylor's injury troubles have cleared the way for Deon Jackson, Zack Moss, Philip Lindsay and Jordan Wilkins to all see some rushing work in 2022.
Entering the regular-season finale, Indy has opted to shake up its RB depth chart one more time.
The Colts have waived Wilkins from the active roster. In a corresponding move, fellow RB Jake Funk was promoted from the practice squad.
With Taylor and Jackson both nursing injuries this season, Wilkins has received some run down the stretch. He's played in four games for Indianapolis since Week 9, recording 87 yards from scrimmage on 19 total touches (13 carries, 6 receptions).
Funk, meanwhile, was signed to the practice squad in Week 10 after Linday's release. The 2021 seventh-round pick won a ring with the Los Angeles Rams as a rookie, but failed to catch on outside of limited special teams work. He's logged just two career carries, both of which came last year.
Moss and Jackson are slated to lead this RB room in Week 18 against the Houston Texans. It'd be no surprise if the Colts work Funk in on a handful of snaps and see what the young back is capable of.
