College Football Teams on Upset Alert in Week 4
By David Hayes

College football's Week 4 lineup has all of the makings of an exciting slate, headlined by three AP Top-25 Poll matchups on the schedule for this Saturday.
After a handful of lower-tier Top-25 teams stumbled last weekend, including Arizona State's 10-7 win over then-No. 18 Michigan State and then-No. 24 USC's OT loss to BYU, here's a look at the three teams that need to be on upset alert, both straight up and against the spread, in Week 4.

1. No. 11 Michigan Wolverines @ No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers (-3.5)
Saturday's 12 p.m. EST showdown between the Wisconsin Badgers and Michigan Wolverines in Madison is arguably the most anticipated matchup of Week 4. While Wisconsin currently sits as a 3.5-point home favorite, and the Badgers have certainly looked like the better team through Week 2, Wisconsin's recent track record against the Big Ten East's top-caliber teams presents a troubling pattern. Over the past seven seasons, Wisconsin has gone 10-12 against teams currently in the Big Ten East division. However, if you remove the likes of Rutgers, Maryland and Indiana (who all combine for a 31-98 conference record since the 2014 season), the Badgers' cross-divisional Big Ten record skids to an ugly 2-12. Even with the home-field advantage a venue like Camp Randall Stadium brings, Wisconsin could be in an unpleasant surprise at the hands of a Michigan team this Saturday.
2. No. 23 Cal Golden Bears @ Ole Miss Rebels (-2)
It's been a while since the Cal Golden Bears have beaten Top-25 teams on the national radar, but Week 2's win over then-No. 13 Washington changed all of that. And for those of you that haven't stayed up to watch Justin Wilcox's defense out there in Berkeley, it's for real. Dating back to last season, over Cal's last 10 games, the Bears haven't allowed more than 23 points a single time, surrendering just 15.0 points per game (PPG) during that stretch. Going on the road to face an SEC opponent is never an easy task, but Cal got the best of the Rebels when these two programs met in Berkeley in 2017 in Wilcox's first year at the helm for the Bears.
3. Kentucky Wildcats @ Mississippi State Bulldogs (-7.5)
Despite losing their starting quarterback in Week 2, the Kentucky Wildcats outplayed No. 8 Florida through the first three quarters and nearly beat the Gators in their 29-21 Week 3 loss in Lexington. While neither of these teams appear to be the same kind of competitors we saw from their respective programs last season, Mississippi State did not look great in the Bulldogs' 31-24 home loss to Kansas State in Week 3 against their first Power 5 conference opponent of the season. Kentucky clearly knows how to rally, so it's possible that the Wildcats will get the better of the Bulldogs in Starkville this weekend.
