Alabama extended its lead as college football's top team with a 44-13 mauling of Miami in Week 1. Meanwhile, three top-25 teams lost, including Clemson in a 10-3 defeat to Georgia.

The Crimson Tide are standing strong as the favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook to repeat as national champions +180 odds. Some tough challenges are ahead against SEC opponents on the road at Florida (Sept 19), Texas A&M (Oct. 9) and home against Ole Miss (Oct. 2).

Only five teams have odds below 30/1 to win the national championship, including Georgia (+400) and Ohio State (+500). But Oklahoma's narrow win over Tulane has dropped the Sooners' odds from +800 to +1200.

As far as national championship longshots, Texas made the biggest jump this week from +8000 to +5000 following a 38-18 win over Louisiana. LSU's odds, meanwhile, fell from +5000 to +10000 after a loss to UCLA.
