Hampered by a hamstring issue suffered in Week 1, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Chris Godwin's injury status had been trending in the wrong direction all week.

Unfortunately, fantasy managers have a tough pill to swallow on Friday afternoon as the Buccaneers officially ruled him out of Sunday's contest against the New Orleans Saints.

This does present big opportunities for Mike Evans and Julio Jones to feast in Week 2, assuming they're able to suit up themselves.

Chris Godwin Injury Update

Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook

Evans, who operates in a 1A-1B type role with Godwin, will be the biggest beneficiary. He's dealing with a calf injury himself but logged a full practice on Friday.

Tampa Bay's leading target-getter from Week 1 has a safe floor of top-12 value with the potential to end up in the top 10. Evans led the Buccaneers' receiving corps with 5 catches for 71 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 while dominating the stat sheet in sheer opportunities, leading the playmaker group with 45 snaps and 23 routes run.

The Saints allowed Marcus Mariota to pass for 215 yards in Week 1, so Tampa Bay's elite offense should be firing on all cylinders in Week 2.

Julio Jones Fantasy Outlook

With Godwin out, Jones steps into the No. 2 role in Tom Brady's passing attack. He also logged at full practice on Friday despite dealing with a slight knee issue.

Jones wasn't far off from Evans from an opportunities standpoint in Week 1 after Godwin went down. This included 32 snaps, 22 routes run, 5 targets, 3 receptions and 69 receiving yards. Jones also saw 2 rushing attempts on gadget plays, which only boosts his value for fantasy managers in Week 2.

FantasyPros' updated Week 2 PPR rankings are all over the pair. Evans checks in at WR10 and Jones holds a steady value of WR35. Start Evans with confidence, and strongly consider slotting Jones into your FLEX spot.
