Updated (4:40 p.m. EST, Monday Oct. 26): An MRI revealed Chris Carson is dealing with a mid-foot sprain. He's currently being considered 'week-to-week' which means he'll likely be sidelined for Week 8. Carlos Hyde is a must-add player and should find himself in the RB2 conversation while Carson is on the shelf.

Chris Carson left the Seattle Seahawks' Week 7 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals before halftime as he suffered a foot injury that may cause him to miss some time. He has been diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain, but it is not yet known how long he will be out.

Chris Carson Injury Update

The injury is not expected to be significant, but Carson missing time would be a huge blow to the fantasy managers who own him this season. Carson is averaging a career-high 4.9 yards per carry this season and has been a workhorse running back working alongside quarterback Russell Wilson.

Before Week 7, Carson had also caught at least 3 passes in each game and shown his abilities to be a receiving threat coming out of the backfield. Carson's absence would be a huge boost to the fantasy outlook of his backup Carlos Hyde.

Carlos Hyde Fantasy Outlook

Hyde would immediately become a high-end RB2 in fantasy football due to the commitment to the running game the Seahawks possess and his most recent performances. After taking over for Carson in this past week, Hyde rushed for 68 yards on 15 carries and scored a touchdown as well.

Hyde proved he is capable of carrying a heavy workload as he rushed for over 1,000 yards just last season with the Houston Texans. He should be considered a top waiver wire pickup this week no matter the extent of Carson's injury.
