Chase Claypool is one of the most athletic receivers in the 2020 NFL Draft class. With a 6-foot-4, 238-pound frame, Claypool still managed to run a 4.42-second 40-yard dash, joining Calvin Johnson as the only WRs to run a sub-4.45 40 while standing at least 6-foot-4 and weighing more than 235 pounds.

That tantalizing athletic skillset helped him land with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round at No. 49 overall. Stepping into a great situation, Claypool carries serious fantasy football upside in the 2020 season.

Chase Claypool Fantasy Football Value

Claypool will find himself primarily competing with JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington and Diontae Johnson for targets. While JuJu has already established himself as a star, Washington and Johnson have only shown flashes.

It's conceivable that Claypool becomes the team's No. 2 option in the passing game thanks to that rare combination of size and speed., especially because he thrives on the outside while JuJu does his best work in the slot. And if Ben Roethlisberger is healthy, he could find himself in one of the league's best passing games.

The last time we saw a full 16-game season from Roethlisberger, he amassed 5,129 passing yards and 34 touchdowns. He also had a proclivity to lock onto his top two options rather than spread the ball around, as both JuJu and Antonio Brown tallied at least 1,250 receiving yards, while no other wide receiver reached even 300 yards.

If Claypool establishes himself early on, he's got big-time potential for the 2020 season, though he could be difficult to trust on a weekly basis. Claypool is the No. 21 overall player in our post-draft rookie rankings.
