Chargers Bolster QB Depth Behind Justin Herbert

The Los Angeles Chargers are blessed with one of the NFL's best quarterbacks in Justin Herbert. In addition to his elite production, he's also stayed incredibly healthy, missing just one game over his first three seasons.
Still, you always need to have a backup plan in the NFL, and the Chargers are keeping theirs by bringing back Easton Stick.

Chargers Offseason News
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that Stick will rejoin Los Angeles for a fifth season after agreeing to terms on a new contract for the 2023 campaign.
The 27-year-old has been with the Chargers since they drafted him in the fifth round out of North Dakota State in 2019. He's only played one NFL game so far, however, throwing just one pass in his only career game back in 2020.
Still, there's value in keeping a backup who already knows the offense and has a built-in relationship with his teammates. Stick is no Herbert, of course, but he could probably hold his own if he had to fill in for him in a pinch.
Los Angeles hopes it never has to find out, but for now Stick will continue to provide stability and continuity at the backup QB position.
