CeeDee Lamb Suddenly Losing Time in Cowboys Offense for No Reason

Rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was one of the most exciting players on the Dallas Cowboys to start the season. He caught 5 passes in six consecutive games to start the year, with at least 100 yards or 2 TDs in three of the six.

Despite his success, Mike McCarthy seems determined to get Lamb less involved in the Dallas offense, however.

Lamb's snap rate is dropping steadily, with his two lowest rates (and three of his four lowest) coming in the last three weeks. It doesn't appear to be the quarterbacks that want him phased out, either. In Weeks 5 and 6 he actually set season-high marks with 11 targets.

Lamb's 8.9 yards per target on the year sit well ahead of Amari Cooper's 8.1, so it's not like the team should be concerned about Lamb's efficiency either.

McCarthy has not impressed Dallas faithful this season, and phasing one of their most exciting young players out of the offense isn't going to do him any favors on that front. Whether the Cowboys are trying to tank or to win the division, getting a young wideout with superstar potential involved in the offense should be a high priority.
