Cam Newton's Stats Against the AFC East Will Get Patriots Fans Hyped

Cam Newton is the newest member of the New England Patriots. While there's plenty of speculation surrounding how, exactly, he will fare during his first season with the team, his history against the AFC East suggests he could be in for a career year.
Newton has flat-out dominated AFC East opponents over the years, including the Patriots.

- 95.5 rating*
- 52 rushes for 334 yds, 3 TDs
*best passer rating vs. any division
Across 8 career appearances against his new divisional foes, Newton has gone 7-1, posting some pretty impressive stats. He's averaged 231.4 passing yards per game with a 95.5 passer rating, adding another 41.8 per game on the ground, while accounting for 17 total touchdowns to just 3 interceptions.
Notably, that 95.5 passer rating is the best such mark he's had against any division.
To be fair, his highest passer rating against any single team is actually the 128.2 mark he's amassed against the Patriots, and it's not like he'll be playing them any time soon. And the remaining three teams in the division haven't exactly been world beaters, recently.
Still, Patriots fans have to love seeing the kind of success Newton has had against his new division rivals.
