Richard Sherman has only been a Tampa Bay Buccaneer since Wednesday, but the team clearly expects him to make an impact very quickly.

It has been revealed that Sherman is already expected to be in the starting lineup for the Bucs' Sunday Night Football matchup against the New England Patriots tonight.

The Bucs are dealing with some injuries in the secondary. Jamel Dean has been ruled out, and while Carlton Davis did practice, he's nursing an abdominal/rib injury.

Only having four days to get up to speed in Tampa puts Sherman in a tough spot, but he's one of the smartest players in football, and if anyone is up to the task its him. They physical aspect could be an other story, though.

The 33-year-old played just five games last season, and he hasn't seen live game action since December 12, 2020.

The Bucs aren't necessarily expected to need a big game from the former All-Pro, however, as FanDuel Sportsbook's Week 4 odds have them as sizable 7-point road favorites tonight.
