The Tampa Bay Buccaneers broke their two-game losing skid with a win in Week 5 over the Atlanta Falcons. Tampa Bay leaned on its defense in that divisional clash, and this league-leading unit will be important once again on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ahead of that Week 6 matchup, the Buccaneers have elevated a veteran defender to bolster their depth.

Linebacker Genard Avery has been signed from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster. Tampa Bay announced the move on Tuesday after waiving fellow LB Kenny Young to start the week.
Avery was part of the team's active roster to kick off the regular season, but he was injured during Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys and missed the last four games. The veteran is a key part of the special teams unit, logging 16 snaps (67% share) for that group against Dallas.
Avery's return to the roster gives the Bucs an added boost heading into Week 6. Before becoming a special teams ace, he also played inside linebacker for both the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles prior to joining Tom Brady and co. With 7.5 sacks over his career, he provides some insurance for Tampa's defense in case anyone goes down.
The Buccaneers enter Week 6 as heavy 8.5-point road favorites against the Steelers, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
