When the Cleveland Browns selected Denzel Ward with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, many saw it as a surprising pick, somewhat of a reach if you will. However, once the season began, it was soon realized that Ward was a fantastic pick. He became an instant star in the Browns secondary.

After taking a bit of a step back in his sophomore campaign, Ward is having another great season in 2020 and one specific stat highlights that. He currently leads the NFL in passes defended.

Ward is covering the opposing team's top wide receiver in most instances, so for him to lead the league in this category makes it all the more impressive.

Keeping the ball out of the hands of the top guys is a tough job. While he might be getting more passes thrown his way, he's also doing what he's supposed to with those opportunities. An encouraging sign for a Browns secondary that had struggled for so long.
