The Cleveland Browns have not been shy about making a splash in free agency in recent years, and it doesn't look like 2021 is going to be any different.

The team is hosting three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney for a free agent visit.

Clowney has been on the receiving end of criticism over the last couple seasons, as he's only managed to rack up a total of 3.0 sacks across 21 games in that stretch, wearing out his welcome in Seattle and Tennessee.

He still racked up 19 quarterback hits over those last two seasons, however, and received strong overall grades of 74.9 in 2020 and an elite 87.3 in 2019 from ProFootballFocus.

Those marks would make him an upgrade over Olivier Vernon (74.8 in 2020 and 80.4 in 2019).

Adding Clowney to a defensive front that already includes Myles Garrett would give the Browns one of the scariest pass rushes in football.

Having a star like Garrett to take some attention off of him could also allow Clowney to finally live up to the potential he showed when he made three straight Pro Bowls with the Houston Texans.
