The Denver Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett before he even finished his first season on the job. A move many saw coming from Week 1 on. Now, Denver is in the midst of conducting a wide-ranging search for their next head coach.

Broncos Interview David Shaw

With a bunch of names already either rumored or confirmed to be interviewing, one more notable name was added to the list. Former Stanford Cardinal head coach David Shaw interviewed for the Broncos head coaching position, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

After 12 years as the head coach of Stanford, Shaw stepped aside in November, and was not originally thought to be a part of the NFL head coach hiring cycle. Now he is. Shaw does have NFL experience, though. He was an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens before he teamed up with Jim Harbaugh.

If Shaw does make the leap to the NFL as a head coach, it will be interesting to see if he can follow in the footsteps of Harbaugh and be one of the only other college coaches to have any real success at both levels.
