Broncos Shown No Love in Peter King's 2022 NFL Power Rankings

After years of missing out on the playoffs, the Denver Broncos made a slew of changes this offseason in hopes of going on a Super Bowl LVII run in the 2022 NFL season. Unfortunately, not everyone is convinced that Denver is an elite team.

NBC Sports' Peter King has released his 2022 NFL power rankings, listing the Broncos as the No. 14-ranked team. Considering all of the improvements that the team has made over the last few months, this ranking is nothing short of disrespectful.

If that wasn't disrespectful enough, King also has the Broncos as the worst AFC West team, placing them behind the Los Angeles Chargers (No. 2), Kansas City Chiefs (No. 3) and Las Vegas Raiders (No. 13).

The Broncos may have been an underwhelming 7-10 last year, they finished the 2021 NFL season with the second-best scoring defense (18.9 PPG). They should remain just as stout this fall, especially with additions like Randy Gregory and 2022 fourth-round pick Damarri Mathis.

Denver had a bottom-10 offense last season, but that shouldn't be the case with Russell Wilson under center. With weapons like Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and Javonte Williams surrounding him, the former NFL MVP has the tools to make opponents fear the Broncos' offense.

Competing in a stacked AFC West Division will be a tough task, but the Broncos are equipped enough to fight for the title until the very end.

The good news is that oddsmakers seem to have more faith in the Broncos than King does. Denver is currently +1700 (No. 8) to win Super Bowl LVII, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
