The Denver Broncos went all-in this offseason by upgrading one of the most important positions on the field. A trade to acquire Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson was completed to revamp a struggling offense, yet the Broncos are still being disrespected in ESPN's latest NFL power rankings.

Denver Broncos Power Rankings

ESPN released a list based on its Football Power Index (FPI) rating and Denver checks in at No. 13. That ranking sits below two other teams in the AFC West division as well as two teams that finished below the .500 mark last year in the Baltimore Ravens (No. 12) and Cleveland Browns (No. 11).

The Broncos were able to post a 7-10 record in 2021 despite rostering a pair of quarterbacks that combined to throw just 20 touchdowns compared to 9 interceptions in 17 games. It became clear that Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock weren't the answer, but Wilson easily could be moving forward.

Wilson has made the Pro Bowl in nine of his 10 NFL seasons and owns a career record of 104-53-1. He also averages a reliable 12.0 yards per completion and 234.6 passing yards per game. Wilson is surrounded by dynamic weapons in Denver and should let the ball fly in the Mile High City.

Of course, Denver possesses one of the best defense in the NFL, too. The Broncos allowed the second-fewest points per game in 2021 (18.9) and ninth-fewest yards per game (326.1). New head coach Nathaniel Hackett has a chance to make a real playoff run with the roster set in front of him.

For now, Denver is tied for the eighth-best odds to win Super Bowl 57 at +1700, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
