Brewers Invite Veteran First Baseman to Spring Training at Last Minute

The Milwaukee Brewers head into Spring Training with hopes to get back into the playoffs after snapping a four-year streak last season. Despite finishing the season with the ninth-most runs scored in baseball, Milwaukee knows the need to add offensive weapons to their lineup.
That's exactly what the franchise accomplished on Monday with a late Spring Training invite.
A little bit of Brewers news as the Brewers prepare for their first full-squad workout this morning -- 1B Luke Voit has been signed to a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training.

According to insider Todd Rosiak, the Brewers invited first baseman Luke Voit to Spring Training on a minor league contract. He'll join the team at American Family Fields of Phoenix with hopes to impress coaches and earn a potential MLB spot when the team breaks camp.
Voit continued to show off his power in 2022, knocking 22 home runs and 69 RBIs across 135 games. He's hit at least 20 home runs a pair of other times throughout his career, including a league-leading 22 in just 56 games during the COVID-shortened season.
Swinging a power-bat from the right side, Voit complements well with lefty-swinging Rowdy Tellez over at first base.
For now, the Brewers have +4000 odds to win the 2023 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook.
