After a long and successful 2021 season, the third-annual All MLB honorees were announced on Tuesday, crowning a first- and second-team of the best players at every position in baseball.

Naturally, a few names left off the list have us scratching our heads. This was highlighted by San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford.

2021 All MLB Team

Despite finishing fourth in the National League MVP award voting, Crawford was left off both the first and second-teams. Fernando Tatis Jr. was instead named the first-team All MLB SS, while Trea Turner took home the second-team honors.

It's hard to imagine how Crawford was left off this list. Not only did the veteran playmaker take home the fourth Gold Glove of his career, but he also finished near the top of every statistical hitting category.

Crawford bashed 24 home runs (6th among SS in MLB) in addition to 90 RBIs (3rd) and 252 total bases (4th). His 90 RBIs and 252 total bases ranked ahead of both Tatis Jr. and Turner, and Crawford accomplished this performance with an impressive .298/.373/.522 slash line.

The Giants did see their season end early in the NLDS, but this was still the best team in baseball all year long thanks to a stellar 107-55 record.
