The Ohio State Buckeyes are once again heavy favorites to win the 2021 Big Ten Championship, according to early college football futures odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Buckeys (-200) are the top pick in front of four teams with odds of +900 including Iowa, Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin.
The Buckeyes are 15-0 the last two seasons in Big Ten play. This team will have to replace a number of graduating players and 10 stars taken in the 2021 NFL Draft, including QB Justin Fields. But, Ohio State brings in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, according to 247 sports.
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz is the longest-tenured head coach in the nation. He enters his 23rd season at Iowa, and has another contending team in 2021. The Hawkeys have finished in the AP top-25 each of the last three seasons, and nine times since 1998 under Ferentz.
Michigan State and Purdue have fallen on tougher times in recent seasons, and the two solid programs are near the bottom of the odds to win the Big Ten in 2021.
Former Wisconsin and Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema returns home to take over as coach of Illinois after Lovie Smith failed to bring to program back to winning ways. Bielema has a 12-year record of 97-58.
