The San Francisco 49ers made a recent move to trade up for the No. 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Although we don't know how that selection will ultimately turn out, the 49ers made other moves this offseason in hopes of getting back to the Super Bowl.
FanDuel Sportsbook's Super Bowl odds show the 49ers as one of the favorites to win it all in 2021. That displays full confidence by oddsmakers in a bounce-back year for San Francisco.
Here are three of the 49ers' best offseason moves so far.
3. Signing Alex Mack
Inking six-time Pro Bowl center Alex Mack to a three-year deal shored up the interior offensive line and will improve the protection around Jimmy Garoppolo or the team's incoming top QB prospect. The 35-year-old center had his worst Pro Football Focus grade in 2020, but that was uncharacteristic for him. He had earned a top-five PFF rating at the position in three of the previous four seasons. He should bounce back, making this O-line a dominant force in 2021.
2. Re-Signing Kyle Juszczyk
Locking up the best fullback in football was a priority, and the 49ers did just that with Kyle Juszczyk. His versatile skills earned the fullback his fifth straight Pro Bowl selection in 2020. It was a season to remember for him, as he recorded a career-high 6 total touchdowns while stepping up with several of the 49ers' weapons injured. With this team back at full strength, Juice provides another weapon in already loaded offense.
1. Bringing Back Trent Williams
The 49ers made sure to keep free agent offensive tackle Trent Williams in San Francisco after trading for him last season. They re-signed the eight-time All-Pro to a massive six-year, $138 million contract through 2026. The former No. 4 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft earned a 91.9 grade from PFF in his first season with the 49ers -- the top rating of all offensive tackles in 2020 by Pro Football Focus. Bringing Williams back to anchor this O-line despite other suitors was a huge win for the Niners.
