When the Chicago Bears qualified for the playoffs in 2020, it was their second time doing so in three years — something they hadn't accomplished since the early 2000s. After all of the moves and improvements that they made over the offseason, the Bears will hope for more playoff success in 2021.

At the same time, not everyone believes that Chicago will succeed. In fact, FanDuel Sportsbook has listed the Bears missing the playoffs at -230 odds. What's strange about this situation is that you could make the argument that the Bears are the second-best team in the NFC North. In other words, FanDuel Sportsbook's odds are nothing short of disrespectful.

Chicago Bears News

One reason why the Bears should make the playoffs is because of their improved offense. Mitchell Trubisky is out and Andy Dalton is the team's new No. 1 signal-caller. However, that could change later on in the season after drafting QB Justin Fields out of Ohio State. The Bears' 2021 first-round pick is extremely talented and could overtake the starting quarterback job somewhere during the next campaign.

Another thing to consider with the Bears' playoff hopes is the real possibility that the Green Bay Packers might not be as dominant as they normally are. Nobody knows if Aaron Rodgers will return to the team. If he doesn't and since the Packers don't have a proven backup option, Chicago could end up winning the NFC North. Is it a long shot? Yes, but is still a possibility.

Overall, Chicago has a solid balance between up-and-coming talent and veterans, so they should be getting more respect than they've been given. Depending on how everything aligns, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Bears made the playoffs and proved the oddsmakers wrong.
