The Auburn Tigers haven't defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels since 1988, but it certainly looks like the oddsmakers believe that 2020 is going to the year that bucks this trend.

Even with the 2020 college football offseason experiencing some unprecedented spring delays and cancellations, the odds and spreads around more than 100 of this fall's biggest matchups are now available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Sitting months away from the seventh all-time meeting between these two football programs, Auburn has already opened as a significant 6-point favorite over North Carolina for this neutral-site matchup in Atlanta in Week 2 of the 2020 college football season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Under the leadership of rising true sophomore quarterback and 2020 Heisman Trophy hopeful Bo Nix, Auburn is primed for yet another competitive year in 2020. The Tigers, did, however, lose some high-caliber talent on the defensive side of the ball to the NFL draft between No. 7 overall pick DT Derrick Brown and No. 30 overall pick CB Noah Igbinoghene.

Despite finishing just 7-6, the Tar Heels were arguably one of the nation's most improved teams under head coach Mack Brown in his first season back at the program's helm since 1997. Among those six Ls, UNC didn't lose a single one by more than seven points, and the Heels put an absolute beating on the Temple Owls, 55-13, in last year's Military Bowl.

There's still plenty of time for things to change between now and this 2020 showdown, but the Tigers remain early favorites for the time being. Barring any scheduling changes we may see, UNC is currently set to clash with Auburn at at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020.
