Unfortunately for baseball fans who don't support the Houston Astros, it doesn't look like their dynasty will end anytime soon. Not only are the Astros flush with stars at the big-league level, but they also have more young talent on the way.

Despite years of poor draft position due to its MLB success, Houston still has a pair of players in Baseball America's Top 100 prospect rankings for 2023.

Houston Astros Top Prospects

According to Baseball America, pitcher Hunter Brown and catcher Yainer Diaz are both among the best prospects in the game. Brown ranks 28th on their updated list while Diaz checks in at No. 82.

Their inclusion isn't much of a surprise. Brown is widely considered one of the top pitching prospects in the sport and already made his MLB debut last year. He immediately dominated, going 2-0 with a 0.89 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings over seven appearances.

Diaz also cracked the majors last year, debuting in September after rosters expanded. While he didn't have much initial success at the plate, catchers can take a bit longer to develop offensively and the potential is certainly there based on his outstanding numbers in the minors.

After getting a taste of the big leagues last year, both could be ready to contribute in bigger roles this year. The Astros don't need much help after winning 106 regular-season games and the World Series last year, but their chances of repeating will be even better if their rookie batterymates can make an immediate impact. Houston currently has the best odds (+600) to win the 2023 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
